We collect only what we need to run BECE well — to create your account, deliver Engineering Tracks, match you with cohorts and mentors, process payments, and keep the platform secure. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information we collect

• Account details — your name, email, password, and the discipline and goals you share when you join.
• Learning activity — the Tracks and milestones you take, submissions, mentor reviews, and certifications you earn.
• Payment information — billing records and the payment method you choose. Card and mobile-money details are handled by our payment processors, not stored by us.
• Technical data — device, browser, approximate location, and usage information collected automatically to keep the service reliable.

3. How we use your information

• To provide, personalise, and improve the platform;
• To match you with the right cohort, mentor, and Track;
• To process payments and manage your membership;
• To communicate with you about your account, sessions, and the community newsletter (you can unsubscribe at any time);
• To keep BECE safe and to meet legal obligations.

4. Payments and mobile money

Payments are processed by third-party providers (for example mobile-money operators and card processors). They handle your payment credentials under their own terms and privacy policies; we receive only the confirmation and records we need for billing.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We share information only with service providers who help us run the platform (such as hosting, analytics, and payments), with mentors and cohort members where you choose to participate, and where required by law. We require our providers to protect your information.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as needed to meet legal, accounting, or security requirements. Your portfolio and certifications are retained so they remain available to you.

BECE serves engineers across Africa and the diaspora, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data, we take steps to ensure it remains protected.

BECE is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
